Boomsliter offers insightful and thought provoking essays that lay bare his perspective on what he sees as the dangers of religion. It is clear that the writing of this book is an attempt for the author to examine gain understanding of his disdain and contempt for organized religion. While some may find the tone to be antagonistic and angry at some points, the author strives diligently throughout the book, to maintain an open-minded and empathetic attitude while expressing his own opinions.
I have to admit I was reading from a Christian’s prospective however, I found this book creatively intelligent while drawing me in without an offensiveness to his representation, but actually a wanting to read attitude of reading someone else’s thinking on the subject. Though I may not agree with Robert’s viewpoint, I not only found this well written, interesting but also thought-provoking
Finally, someone was able to write an honest and open book about atheism that was somewhere between an apologist and an extremist. While there are plenty of people out there who attempt to discuss their non-belief, it never seems to come out right, but speaking as an atheist myself, I think this book was a refreshing change.
Robert Boomsliter did a beautiful job of composing a piece that was NOT PC; that’s what I loved the most.
The author did a fine job of displaying his opinions and the evidence/reasons behind them. It’s a very enlightening read and I feel like I understand a lot about the author after reading it. It’s well written, and you can tell there was a lot of care put into the novel. I’d definitely read more from this author.
